The three main components of the Bassmaster Classic are: daily boat launches beginning at 6 a.m. at Red River South Marina and Resort, daily weigh-ins beginning at 3 p.m. each day at CenturyLink Center, and the Bassmaster Classic Expo at Shreveport Convention Center. All of these events are free to attend and open to the public. WATER SPECTATOR DIRECTIONS

All spectators viewing the Bassmaster Classic anglers from their own personal boats, must avoid using the locks during this event. Contestants are on a strict lock schedule, and providing a streamlined lock procedure will ensure these anglers valuable fishing time on the water. Be courteous to the anglers and give them plenty of room to fish. If an angler holds two hands above his head (touchdown signal) this is a signal to inform spectators to give them more space and move away from the direction that the Classic angler’s boat is heading. Spectator boats should launch in the Pool in which they want to view their favorite anglers. There are two public ramps in Pool 4, Coushatta and Red Oak Lake, which are located in close proximity to productive fishing areas that the pros will be fishing. In Pool 5, River Bend Marina and four public ramps are available for launching. No private boats will be allowed to launch at Red River South Marina for the duration of this event. Pool 3 also has several public launches, for those wishing to make the drive. Directions to all public ramps can be found at redriverwaterway.com/rec-areas.asp.

Fishing Virginia’s Highlands: An Angler’s Guide

Rich in angling lore, the secluded lakes and rivers of Virginia’s Highlands offer some of the best trout and smallmouth bass fishing found anywhere in the state. From the Alleghany Highlands in the north (which encompass Alleghany, Bath, and Rockbridge counties) to the Blue Ridge/Grayson Highlands in the southwest (which include Grayson, Smythe, and Washington counties), these portions of the commonwealth offer many high-yield rivers, lakes, and streams including Lake Moomaw, the Maury River, South Holston Lake, and the North Fork of the Holston River. In his new guide, Fishing Virginia’s Highlands, M. W. Smith extends his ongoing tour of the state’s greatest fishing spots to these two remote regions, offering readers excellent advice on where, when, and how to catch more fish in Virginia’s Highlands.Renowned for its mineral springs, the Alleghany Highlands is home to world-famous spas, including the Homestead in Bath County, making it a popular destination for many outdoor enthusiasts. The Blue Ridge/Grayson Highlands, which is surrounded by such cities as Abingdon, Bristol, Winston-Salem/Greensboro, and Charlotte, is also a common weekend getaway spot. By considering these two areas in one volume, Smith provides valuable information for anglers and other visitors, giving readers the information they need to enjoy the natural beauty of the waters and to catch more fish from them. Complete with a comprehensive map of the regions’ streams, notes on specific fishing locations keyed to maps in DeLorme’s Virginia Atlas and Gazetteer, and an appendix that lists local guide services, tackle shops, camping sites, and parks, Smith’s guidebook is a compact and informative resource.Whether you are a visitor or a longtime resident, novice angler or pro, Fishing Virginia’s Highlands will prove an indispensable guide to every fishing adventure you undertake in highland waters.

The lake was originally named Crater Lake , but was renamed in deference Oregon ‘s more famous Crater Lake . The Park is vegetated with mostly evergreen forest, and the lake is stocked with bass , catfish and trout . Facilities include a swimming area and a boat launch ramp. Bridle trails ring the lake and criss-cross the summit area. Paddleboats may be rented for hourly. There are a few small bass present, and catfish, but trout fishing is the main attraction for anglers, especially on opening day. The property at the lake is now a Washington State Park, but it was formerly owned by the Dollars, a local family for which Dollars Corner, a nearby intersection, was named. Bass Fishing Book Intense

Bass Fishing Book – Intense Bass Fishing Tips

Article by Bass Man

If you would like to become better at bass fishing, and be a very serious competitor in professional bass fishing tournaments, then you need these top professional bass fishing tips and techniques in your repetoir.

There are different bass fishing spots that will have different weather conditions. You will need to use the best bass fishing tools for the current weather conditions so that you can fish like a pro, and in whatever weather conditions you find yourself in.

WARMER CONDITIONS

Bass have a sense to notice when the days start getting longer, and in warmer weather they normally hit warm shallow waters to feed. The northwest spot of a lake, or in primary creek arms seem to contain the largest bass fish, and are great spots to fish. Banks that have lots of cover will also have some real nice sized bass. Once the temps go up the bass tend to migrate to river systems and lakes that are murky.

COOLER CONDITIONS

When the weather conditions are cooler, most largemouth bass will follow the bait fish into the shallows. You would want to try to match your fishing lure to the type and size of the bait fish that these bass are feeding on. Try your best to cast right into the schools of the bait fish.

In winter month, the largemouth bass normally head for deeper waters, and there is definitely more of a challenge to catching bass in winter. The bass conserve their energy, because they eat more in the warmer periods, so the bass activity will be significantly reduced.

However, cooler conditions usually mean that you will have less competition, and more times than not this is when you’ll find your largest trophy bass. The most popular bass bait for cooler conditions is soft baits… followed by hard baits.

In windy conditions pro bass fishermen go to fishing spots where they’ve found plankton, hoping that largemouth bass will be feeding off smaller fish that are feeding off plankton. When the lighting is low largemouth bass tend to feed a little more often. Moderate rain will cause heavy feeding, while heavier rainfall makes bass retreat… though it’s possible to find largemouth bass feeding wildly about 15 feet below surface.

I have learned alot about bass fishing in “Better Bass Fishing“. If you would like to learn everything there is about bass fishing, then you should take a look at Better Bass Fishing. A comprehensive guide for all that are serious about bass fishing.
